Sports Day

This spring, our kindergarten had sports day, an annual event that all Japanese schools hold. It's amazing! There are choreographed exercise routines and tons of fun games. This was our first time to try it and the kids LOVED it!

We had 玉入れ (the "put the ball in the basket" game)...

...all kinds of fun! Here is a picture of me giving the kids a pep talk before our dance set to Jackson 5's ABC123.

After the main event, we gathered on the tarp for a PICNIC!!! Bento and picnic lunches are an art form in Japan, by the way. Feast your eyes! We had fun sharing food and laughing with each other after the class burned their energy for the morning. :)
